Impact drill great choice. Well out of the box this little tool has the power , more than I expected, you will need to use the setting and let go of the power switch on some more delicate items, but to sum it up compared to my original one the has a lot of up grade but definitely does not lack the power , over any other brand I would definitely choose this one, no issue with it at all , works better than I expected. A purchase.

LOVE my new Milwaukee!! It is light and has a perfect amount of torque. Im a commercial HVAC service tech and this is the PERFECT drill for me !!! Strong enough to do anything i need it to , yet light enough to use all day long !!

I love this impact driver! I install solar panels for a living and fasten about 500 five inch lag bolts into roof rafters a week. Only reason I put a 4 star review is because the gun does tend to overheat especially when broken in or when using a high output battery. I usually have to send one in once a year for repairs. However I do put the gun threw hell. Would love to see better cooling in the next generation impact driver.

I was worried about the bad reviews that said there were overheating issues. Yeah, it gets warm if you run it continuously on MAX, but nothing crazy. They're just a bunch of sissies that should stick to the lesser brands.

Works good but has some flaws in my opinion. Might be the one I got, but now and then the trigger gets flaky, You hit it and 95% time instant start but the other 5% you squeeze the trigger and nothing, let go and hit it again then it starts. My other personal dislike is after pulling out 20 deck screws the metal nose gets hot after approx 40 screws I actually burned the tip of my finger on the metal casing, My old one got hot but never hot enough to cook skin.

I bought this impact a year ago and have major overheating issues I had it repaired once because it locked up and would only hammer. Had to buy another today because it got to hot and won’t spin under load anymore I’m very dissatisfied especially because I’ve switched over to Milwaukee from dewalt and I got 8 years out of my dewalt impact before having to replace it.

I have a 1st gen, 2nd gen, and M18 Surge, all have been great and reliable, and this seemed like a great upgrade. I do love the tri lights, and it is impressively fast and powerful. That said I have had a whole bunch of issues with this tool. The self tap setting doesn't work at all on this model. The impact would get incredibly hot after driving only 5-6 screws in a row, and then would start smoking after 20 or so. The collet then broke, a spring fell out and it won't retain the bit anymore

I really like this impact driver! I also own an older version that didn’t have the speed selection option, so that is a nice added touch. I use this one mainly for driving deck screws into wood. It’s nice to have 2 of them now to switch between when running these impact drivers for long periods of time in the hot NC summer, they tend to get hot after being in the direct sun. I absolutely love this purchase!

Gets so hot after only a few minutes of use, it will burn your hand. Is bulkier than the gen 3. The power upgrade from the gen 3 is barely noticeable. After 4 months of daily use mine no longer works. I think it over heated. I am a commercial roofer, this job is extremely rough on tools but still, my gen 3's last at least a year to a year and a half. I love the gen 3's. I will never buy another gen 4. Over priced garbage.

Generally love Milwaukee just had to return this after 2 days of use. Driving #14 self tappers the drill became to hot to touch. After a few hours the tool would only allow driving on 3rd speed while all other speeds would consistently cut out. From seeing other reviews it might be only a problem with drilling/self drilling. I didn't use it for any wood work. The lights are nice and it is light weight, which is also nice.

Already had 2 older model Milwaukee impacts, 1 of those was getting worn out, so I decided to spend a little more money and get this new model. Purchased in April and it already seized up in July. The chuck doesn't turn and it just hammers. I install garage doors, run a lot of self drillers, I always run 2 impacts to try and keep them from getting too hot. Very disappointed for the money I spent, this one will not work now.
