I'm somewhat amazed by this drive. I bought it because I wanted to move my Lightroom catalog of some 20,000 images off my internal hard drive, along with over 150 Gb of video files. It reads and writes files significantly faster than my 4 TB SanDisk drive, sometimes in a fraction of the time. I had thought SanDisk was the standard for SSDs, but there's no comparison. Plus, it has a solid, rugged case. It's well worth the money.

I received the Samsung T9 in perfect condition and faster than expected. The build quality is outstanding, and the speed is amazing for transferring large files and running data directly. The performance is stable with no overheating, and the product is 100% original. Tested it on both my PC and phone, and it works flawlessly. Packaging was secure and the seller was very professional. Highly recommended! Great value for the money! 🔥

This SSD is really fast - and it's also small so really handy to pop in your pocket. The rubber casing, as well as protecting the drive, means it won't slip out of your hand. I bought this to run MacOS Time Machine backups and it's perfect - I literally just plugged it in and Time Machine set itself up. The initial full backup took minutes instead of hours.

It is very fast - I'm using it on a Win 7 computer & it might be even faster on the latest ones. Backing up my music used to need doing it over a couple of days - now it is more like a couple of hours (with USB 3.1) Using it mainly as a backup for my music, photo & video collections. I hope it will be more reliable than mechanical hard discs - I've had several not working after a few years. Small, light, fast - what's not to like ?

Value For Money:The most affordable I found Best Feature:Very easy. No need to setup. Plug and play. Performance:Super fast read and write speeds. Checked out during one of their Shopee Livestreams. Delivery was super fast and unexpectedly came in a heavy box. Turns out they added lots of freebies which I definitely appreciate. A new go-to for my tech needs.

I bought this SSD as a back-up for my personal devices. The Samsung Portable T9 SSD is fast...I mean REALLY fast! The external hard drive helped me back up all of my info in a matter of minutes. Easy to set up; just plug it in and follow the prompts, and you're good to go. I also like the fact that the drive is password protected, so my info is secure. Right now is a great time to look into portable SSDs while they're on sale!

Performance:Insanely fast I try transfer my file from iphone 16 pro to the ssd was insanely fast. I do really recommend this for others that one to shoot raw footage using iphone. Even all my video file from osmo action 5 pro transfer into it was insanely fast. Worth the money

I bought this about 2 months ago and it's the best I've ever owned. The transfer speed on this thing is insanely fast. I use manly for mobile backups and pics and videos. I was backing up my phone (about 160 gb) estimated time was 45-60 mins. It finished in 22 mins. I couldn't believe it. Backed up my wifes phone with the same results. Highly recommend using the type c cords that came with it. Love it. The best buy of the year for me.

The T9 is compact, sturdy, and fast. The transfer speeds I am getting from USB C to USB c is 1340 Mb/s. I would highly recommend this product. Thank you Samsung

I bought this portable T9 2TB SSD as a back-up to my usual Samsung T7 2TB SSD (just in case it got lost or corrupted). As it's so much faster than the T7, its now my daily SSD and the T7 is the back-up. Built tough, feels tough ......enough.

Negative Highlights (10%)

I purchased a T9 4tb memory SSD from Amazon in 12/2004. When hooking it up it asked for me to enter a password to access the device. I hadn't entered one in the first place, have no idea what it is supposed to be, and am blocked from using the device. I have written asking for service and no response was made. My cellphone and tablet work and local service is available. The T9 cost $300.00+ and is useless. NO SERVICE!

I am rating this because 5 Stars not because the product is outstanding (all the Samsungs I've used over the years are great, except for one thing), but because Crutchfield's website was so easy to use, and the follow-through with delivery was perfect. The one thing about Samsung SSD Drives is that I have found no way to open them without losing my data if I accidently change the password or forget the password.

I've never had so many issues with a portable memory unit. Sadly, I hit so many issues with Windows updates that the device wont let me access my folders. I am located in Canada, and this unit is less than 6 months old. Can you please help?

Hello, I need help. I just got a new Samsung T9 SSD 4TB, and I'm using it for the first time. However, it's already locked with a password and is also write-protected. I can't use it at all. I haven't set any password, but it's asking for one. What should I do?

Looks sleek, but the encryption setup is a pain. Took me 30 mins to figure out the password prompt. Not user-friendly at all.

Critical Issues (4)

1

The Samsung T9 requires a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 compatible port to achieve its advertised maximum transfer speeds. Performance can be significantly lower without this specific port.

2

Some users report being locked out of the drive even without initially setting a password, or experiencing difficulty with password setup.

3

Some users report the drive failing or becoming inaccessible after a few months of use.

4

Mac users will need to format the drive to exFAT for optimal compatibility.
