Positive Highlights (88%)

Brill piece of kit, was tempted to go cordless as I have some Makita battery older model drills and drivers which are fab but cost put me off (battery different size so could not switch and swap) and please I did as very powerful, cord keeps out of the way and great value for occasional use.

A study case, as with other Makita tools, protects this saw. Absent soft start or breaking, this is back to good old school circular saws. So far so good. Unlike battery, there is plenty of power and the dust exhaust works for right handed people (blows to the rear/right). Only complaint would be the power cable as something you have to keep an eye on - an sold School problem for a reliable workhorse.

Read a lot of reviews when choosing which saw to buy and we have been very peased with the saw since its arrival. Its lightweight and cuts as expected. Reasonable length of the power cord and storage box stacks and carrys well. We have cut a mixture of hardwood and softwood and the blade it is supplied with suffices for the jobs without burning the wood

Powerful, cuts straight, recent purchase so cannot comment on reliability yet, had to change blade to a 40T for smoother cut

Great saw, loads of power made short work of railway sleepers inc box , and best price.

Very happy with my purchase. Is cutting play like butter.

Fantastic addition to my tools, cuts through material with ease and is of exceptional quality.

Good saw and powerful. Watch out for the guard jamming on long cuts

Great saw, used it for ripping joists and old sleepers, awesome

Brilliant tool, powerful and efficient .

Negative Highlights (5%)

Great saw can't fault the body. The saw bed is easily knock out of square. Also why on earth makita made the power lead so short you struggle to reach down a 2.4 board unless you have it plugged in right next to you so a right pain using it with the extractor. I'll be wiring in a longer one as soon as I get a chance.

110 not 240 so didn’t buy

Critical Issues (3)

1

Some users report that the saw bed can easily go out of square, affecting cutting accuracy.

2

Some users experienced issues with the guard sticking during long cuts.

3

The safety switch configuration differs from cordless Makita tools, and having the switch only on one side has been found inconvenient by some users.
