Positive Highlights (89%)

Looks great, feels great, and it’s quick and easy to setup. I was a little on the fence considering the price, but it feels like an Apple premium product. You don’t get the sense that Apple cut any corners designing this product. Even the Apple A18 Pro processor does a fantastic job! Really pleased!

Words i never thought i would attribute to Apple, but 2026 is a year full of surprises. This laptop couldnt come at a more perfect time for our daughter who is just about to start uni. Its fast enough for her needs and has good battery for a whole day. She also really likes the screen for her design work.

Okay but the laptop is so nice! It feels great, is actually, surprisingly fast and the battery is decent too. I actually love how you can charge it with a power bank, it doesn't require a lot of power to go in to charge it. I thought the trackpad was gonna feel funny too but it's just as good as my old MacBook Pro with Force Touch Taptic trackpad.

Day one with the MacBook Neo and honestly it is my new everyday champ. Getting the classic Apple aluminum build, amazing colors, and quiet A18 Pro chip that is super snappy makes for an unbeatable device for the value.

I was really hesitant on buying this MacBook due to the controversy about A18 pro chip but I just said yolo and bought it since I needed a new MacBook. The setup process was really quick and everything ran very smooth within just one hour.

It works great and runs any app without issues. Great build quality, decent performance, good battery life, great keyboard and trackpad. The only negative thing is lack of ports, one extra USB-c on the other side would be great.

Fantastic bit of kit for price and the quality is superb, multi tasking with ease and well worth the money.

Value for money I reccomend this over MacBook Air, this is efficient for work basis

my last macbook was from 2008 so this is a HUGE upgrade. I also own a mac studio for editing work so this macbook is mostly for leisure and writing on the go. Its so fast and pretty light and the light green hue is beautiful.

Negative Highlights (6%)

This is perfect for what most people need! Amazing budget laptop to add to your apple eco system without paying twice the price for a new laptop. I have not run into any issues or limitations yet and I am doing what most people/students will be doing.

Critical Issues (3)

1

Some users report that the advertised 13-inch screen measures closer to 11.5 or 12 inches, which may not meet expectations.

2

The keyboard does not have a backlight, which might be a concern for users working in low-light conditions.

3

The device has a limited number of ports, with some users wishing for an additional USB-C port.

Positive Mentions

It's honestly fine. Not just barely hanging on fine, but like genuinely smooth.

The trick here that Mac OS just handles memory completely different than Windows, which is why they're able to get away with 8 gigs of RAM.

In my past experiences with Windows machines, I would be willing to bet that a machine at $4.99, 599, even $6.99 probably wouldn't be able to handle the same amount of stuff that I'm throwing at it as easily and as efficiently as this MacBook Neo has been.

Negative Mentions

You get two USBC ports, and they're not equal. The one in the back is USB 3 with speeds up to 10 Gbits per second, and it's the only one that supports putting out to an external display. The other one is USB 2, which is basically worthless at this point.

This is probably my biggest pain point. I transfer off of an SD card from this camera. So, not only am I missing an adapter for or I'm not missing, but I need an adapter. There's no SD card slot.

And I'm missing out on the Thunderbolt 5 speeds that I am very much used to on my other machine.
